Procura (latin pro = for and cura = worry) refers to two photographic series that were realized with a conceptually coordinated approach. In the spring of 1990, during the waning days of the GDR, I had the opportunity to visit the headquarter of the Ministry for State Security, which had been stormed by angry citizens in January 1990. Head of this Ministry was for almost all time of this country Erich Mielke.
In 1982, the GDR was threatened with insolvency. It was largely saved from this by two billion-euro West German loans in 1983 and 1984, which were handled by Deutsche Bank. In the early summer of 1996, I gained access to the historically important branch of Deutsche Bank in Düsseldorf, which had served as the headquarters for Supervisory Board Chairman Dr. F. Wilhelm Christians for many years and where decisions regarding these loans were presumably also made.
